a cut-open backyard got 13.1M views. it was a new page's FIRST video on TikTok, so i rebuilt the format as one free Claude prompt, then did the same for stickman stories and lecture explainers.
this is the original, posted by You Built It on oct 11:
then i looked for everyone else giving this kind of thing away and 7 made the cut. each one is free in a post or an open repo, with nothing to comment for.
inside: the 3D backyard, the stickman story, the lecture reel, a UI motion reel, a space explainer, 2D "what if" cartoons, a canvas animation skill, 66 film styles, a motion library and free b-roll.
all 10 run in Claude Code. a Claude plan is the only thing you pay for (one uses the free ElevenLabs plan for its voice).
i ran my 3 end to end with a blind Claude rater. i didn't run the other 7, so read any "best" here as the most saved.
1. the 3D "what if" backyard
a 60 to 75 second 3D Short. a house sits over a soil block cut open like a cake while a calm narrator builds an everyday thing, one problem at a time.
You Built It's 48 TikToks have 58.6M views since oct 11. its YouTube Shorts, sorted by views on oct 30:
its second-biggest Short, a strip of dirt that becomes a road, has 5,257,944 views:
how it's made: the page doesn't say. on screen it's semi-real 3D, a soil block cut open like a cake and one caption word at a time over a calm, fast narrator.
our guide rebuilds it as one paste. Claude Code writes the script, voices it on your PC, builds the yard in Blender (free) and adds the captions.
its worked example is this pond, so running it gives you this exact video (yes, the fish too):
a blind rater gave it 59/70, while You Built It's own videos scored 55 and 61 on it (it's ACTUALLY harsh). the weak row is the look, since our fish are simpler than their yard.
to start:
-> save whatif_guide.md as CLAUDE.md in an empty folder -> open Claude Code there and say "make one video, you pick the topic"
it takes about 2.5 to 3 hours on a gaming PC, mostly unattended. the format is You Built It's, this is an independent rebuild.
the guide: https://github.com/Theoxmotion/whatif-3d-studio
2. the stickman survival story
second-person survival stories in parts, each ending on a vote in the comments. itsquarkboi's first reel, GRIDLOCK Day 1, has 1.7M views, while 12 of its 13 reels passed 100K:
how it's made, in its bio: "animated stickman survival stories, in parts". on screen: flat stick figures, short captions and a HUD with the day, the time and a phone battery.
drawn.tosurvive's 10th Floor Part 1 has 1.7M on Instagram too:
its caption calls them "animated apocalypse stories based on real survival facts". every part shows a rule card and a fact card.
i asked if u wanted a guide for these on oct 28:
u asked for it, here it is. i rebuilt the format in 3D, where flat 2D stickmen act inside low-poly rooms with real light and shadow under a HUD with the day and a clock.
every frame is code. there are no AI images or AI video in it.
UNDER THE RIVER, made with the prompt:
a Claude rater gave it 104/120. the 10th Floor series by drawn.tosurvive, one of the pages behind this format, scored 96 to 99 on the same rater.
it came from a fresh session in an empty folder, told only "you pick" at every step.
to start:
-> paste story_video_prompt.md into Claude Code in an empty folder -> answer "you pick" at each step, or give your own notes
Claude works alone for about 1 to 2 hours. listen once before you post (Claude can't hear the mix).
the guide: https://github.com/Theoxmotion/story-video-studio
3. the lecture explainer reel
the format is based on @finnardley's public prompt. he posted it on oct 30 and it had 926 bookmarks the same evening:
a 45 to 60 second reel that plays like a short lecture. a cartoon teacher talks bottom right while titles and cards land on the exact word being said.
i kept his lecture feel with our own teacher, colours and fonts. this one explains Claude skills:
a second one teaches the 70 extra App Store pages Apple gives every app:
a blind rater gave them 65/80 and 71/80, with every row at 7 or more. the voice runs on your computer, so it needs only Claude.
the talking-teacher reel works for big channels too. ByteByteGo's "How Big Tech Ships Code to Production" has 1,990,658 views on YouTube:
how it's made: the presenter talks to camera for all 58 seconds while a diagram builds above him, one step per sentence. our guide does that with a cartoon teacher drawn in code.
Jeff Su's "AI Agents explained in 3 steps" has 877,283 views, about 36x his channel's median Short:
he's on camera for 2 seconds, then dark cards build Level 1 to 3 with a tick or a cross on each (our stamps do the same job).
to start:
-> save explainer_prompt.md as CLAUDE.md in an empty folder -> open Claude Code there and say "make a reel" plus your topic
the guide: https://github.com/Theoxmotion/explainer-reel-studio
those are mine. the next 7 come from other creators, with every number read on oct 30.
4. @twoclipping's UI motion reel
one shape morphs through 8 to 12 UI states while a cursor clicks through every change, all cut to a 120 BPM track.
1,179,689 views and 21,077 bookmarks, the most saved free video prompt i found:
the full template is in the post (nothing to unlock). it needs only Claude plus a free Mixkit song.
to start, copy the template, fill in the inputs and paste it into Claude Code.
5. @finnardley's space explainer
a 30 second Kurzgesagt-style "what if the Sun vanished?" explainer drawn in code, with a WebGL Earth, an astronaut mascot and narration timed to the word.
249,422 views and 5,219 bookmarks since oct 25:
the full prompt is in the post. ElevenLabs is optional, since without a key it switches to a free voice that runs on your computer.
to start, paste the prompt into Claude Code with your own "what if".
6. @kelanoo's 2D "what if" cartoons
15 to 25 second "What If" cartoons in a dusk-lit stick-figure style. the character is drawn in code, so the hero never changes between shots.
his post about it has 1,689 bookmarks. the free link sits in this reply:
@Deroidz posted one he made with it the next day:
you get the skill, his story patterns and the tool list, plus a free YouTube walkthrough (16,392 views):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeZTgiEFxY0
this one needs ElevenLabs for the voice and sound. its free plan covers about 40 episodes a month, for non-commercial use with credit.
Remotion renders it, free for individuals and teams of up to 3. to start, install the skill from the repo and follow the walkthrough.
the skill: https://github.com/kelano86/what-if-animation
7. Chase AI's animate skill
short animated videos drawn on one canvas in code, in 7 built-in styles from cut paper to pixel art, or any look from your own references.
you approve the story, the look and the storyboard before it animates. his free 14 minute tutorial (Chase-H-AI on YouTube) has 202,795 views:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rscb1DgJtNg
it needs nothing past Claude (the voice is optional). to start, add the repo to Claude Code as a skill and follow the tutorial.
the skill (1,149 stars): https://github.com/cth9191/animate
8. lemo-opuscar's 66 film styles
short films with narration and music in 66 ready styles, each with a demo film, made by lemomo-ai on GitHub.
9,749 stars, the most of any free Claude Code video library i found. @Voxyz_ai posted the install tip (it says 43 styles, the repo has grown since):
it needs only Claude, with free voice models and free sample libraries for the score.
the catch is time. a film takes 30 to 60 minutes and a fair amount of tokens, plus a first download over 1 GB.
to start, install it as a Claude Code plugin with the two commands in the README.
the repo: https://github.com/lemomo-ai/lemo-opuscar
9. motion-prompt's 120 moving samples
a clickable library of 120 moving samples by showheyohtaki, from camera moves to UI pieces and web effects. tick the ones you like and Claude Code builds them into your video.
63,063 views and 1,636 bookmarks on @Voxyz_ai's post:
it upgrades any format above (mine included), since it only changes how things move. commercial use is fine if you keep the credit line.
to start, paste the one-line install prompt from the repo into Claude Code.
the repo: https://github.com/showheyohtaki/motion-prompt
10. @ElliotPadfield's free b-roll line
one instruction that points Claude at archive.org's free API to pull public-domain films, 78 rpm records and concert recordings into your edit. it needs no key.
240,722 views and 8,285 bookmarks, about 2.3 for every like:
give Claude his line before the edit step (it's ONE line). it covers the clips and music for every format above.
what i didn't test
i ran my 3 end to end, with blind Claude ratings. the other 7 i read, checked for gates and counted, but didn't run. this is what the counting says:
bookmarks say people wanted it. they don't say the output is good. every number was read on oct 30.
which one to start with
-> a page people come back to: the stickman survival story -> the biggest proven format: the 3D backyard (58.6M on TikTok since oct 11) -> one lesson in under a minute: the lecture reel or Finn's space explainer -> a fast first win: @twoclipping's UI prompt -> better motion or free clips for any of them: motion-prompt and Elliot's line
save this before your next video, every link is in here.
