The AI Kill Switch

Today, on the Fal.Con stage, I announced the AI Kill Switch. It puts the power to stop any AI agent back in human hands, and that changes how fast every company can move with AI.

Every company is asking the same question about AI agents: can they be stopped? Now the answer is yes. That answer is what moves agents out of pilots and into the business.

The kill switch is the ultimate brake, and similar to racing, it allows us to go faster.

The more certain a company is that it can stop any agent, the more agents it can put to work, and the faster it can let them run.

So we move from security to safety. For decades, security meant keeping the adversary out. Safety is the bigger opportunity: letting AI run at full speed, inside the business, with a human in control. Safety is an even higher calling in security.

AI safety comes down to three things:

1. Every AI agent is a privileged identity. It holds credentials, acts on its own, and carries the access of the person who deployed it. It should be secured like the most privileged insider in the company.

2. Runtime is the control point. Labs test a model before it ships. Once it's in production, what counts is what it actually does. Governance documents don't stop an agent in motion. Enforcement at machine speed does.

3. Humans always hold the final say. Agents act on their own. Accountability stays with people, and so does the decision to stop them.

Anyone who has worked with agents has seen them go around just about any obstacle in their way. That's what makes them so useful.

That's exactly why we built the AI Kill Switch. It lives outside the model, at runtime, where an agent can't argue with it, rewrite it, or wait it out.

Every agent will need a kill switch, just as every employee needs an identity.

AI safety is how you get the full benefit of AI. Go faster, safely.
