how to grow on 𝕏 in 2026: 16 rules from the new algo
文章目录
I grew my 𝕏 account from** 400 to 26,000 follower**s
and if there’s one thing I learned, it’s this:
YOU DON'T GROW BY POSTING AND REPLYING MORE
you grow by understanding what the algorithm wants people to do with your content
here’s the latest X algo update explained + what you should actually do 👇
1 > post original (!) content
original posts are what give you the best chance of reaching people who don’t follow you yet
if growth is the goal, don’t build your entire strategy around replies, reposts, copied text, or recycled content
create posts that can stand on their own
2 > create posts people want to share
one of the strongest signals is still sharing
(especially when someone copies your link and sends it to another person)
the question to ask before posting:
would someone send this to a friend?
if yes, you’re probably creating something valuable.
3 > make people want to reply and quote
replies and quote posts are strong signals because they create conversations around your content
experiment with different formats to find your bangers:
-
opinions
-
observations
-
frameworks
-
questions
-
or ideas that give people something to react to
4 > make videos worth watching
a hard part, but worth it
you can start simple: sincere, self-made videos from the founder
(don't waste time on special effects and production)
getting someone to tap your video isn’t enough now: if they open it and immediately leave, that doesn’t help much
so your first few seconds matter more than ever:
start with the strongest part → remove long intros → get straight to the point
5 > one great post beats six average posts
posting more doesn’t automatically mean getting more reach
your posts can compete with each other in the same feed
quality > volume
instead of publishing six average ideas, spend more time making one of them great
use drafts on your phone
6 > talk to your audience
𝕏 is a social network
actually be social:
ask people reply to people support people build relationships follow people you genuinely interact with
conversations (in replies) between people who follow each other appear to get significantly more weight according to new algo!
7 > create posts that earn followers
a post that makes someone follow you sends a powerful signal to algo
this means some posts should reinforce why someone should want more of your content:
useful, interesting, educational, explanatory
give people a clear reason to hit 'Follow' button
8 > small accounts still have an opportunity
if you’re under 1,000 followers, X appears to give smaller accounts some extra discovery
that means you don’t need a huge audience to get distribution
you need good posts!
this is probably the best time to experiment aggressively and find what works
9 > stop writing clickbait
getting the click isn’t the goal anymore
keeping attention is
if your headline promises something and the content doesn’t deliver, people leave and you will be punished by algo!
Write hooks that are strong, but accurate
10 > avoid content people want to hide
“not interested” is one of the strongest negative signals
controversial is OK
irrelevant, annoying, or misleading is not
11 > don’t use engagement bait
“like if you agree” “comment yes to receive it” “tag 3 friends”
algo is now penalizing this more severely than ever
12 > don’t stuff hashtags
hashtags are not a growth strategy
we are not in 2015 anymore
13 > don’t repeat the same content again and again
repeating identical or nearly identical text can make your content look spammy
reuse ideas instead:
change the angle, format, or insight
14 > don’t post everything back to back
if you publish several posts immediately one after another, they can compete for the same audience
Make every post earn its own distribution before tweeting the next one
15 > metrics
Not every engagement signal is equally valuable in 2026:
-
bookmarks appear to have little or no direct ranking value
-
time spent inside the post is the major metric
-
the rest are the same: sharing, replying, quoting, and following
16 > your first 48 hours matter most
most posts have a limited distribution window
we have 48 hours
after it don’t expect the algo to suddenly bring an old post back to life
engage on your own posts within the first 30 min
the BIGGEST takeaway
the X algo is becoming much better at distinguishing between real interest and empty engagement
it doesn’t just want people to click
It wants people to:
read watch reply quote share follow
so we need to stop optimizing for empty likes
not more content → better content
