@Inspect Where’s The Bottleneck Now?
You can just build things.
From day one, it’s what I’ve told our team: when a customer runs into a problem, the person who notices should dig in. When someone finds a better way to work, they should build it for the team.
But it gets harder as a company grows. More than 85,000 businesses use Ramp today. Even a small change requires understanding how multiple systems connect, working through dependencies with other teams, and making sure not to break something our customers rely on.
As building gets cheaper, we wanted more people on our team to be able to act on their ideas.
That’s why we built Inspect, our collaborative coding agent: so we can go from ideas to fixes and products faster, without losing momentum. Most orgs slow down as they grow. Our builders now ship 3.4x as many PRs per person as they did a year ago, and Inspect is a big reason why.
Today, we’re opening early access to Inspect.
Build in the open
Give Inspect a task from wherever you do your work: Slack, GitHub, Linear, on the web, or on the run. It converts your words into a visually validated and fully reviewed pull request using your team's development environment.
Because Inspect runs in the cloud, you'll never have to set up another local environment or be constrained by one again.
Every session is multiplayer by default. Teammates can join to add context, flag a constraint, or steer the approach before review.
Imagine: you’re on your way to work and notice something wrong with your mobile app. You take a screenshot and send ‘@inspect fix this’ in Slack. Inspect gathers context, pinpoints the issue, fixes it, provides visual proof, and prepares the pull request for your review before you even get to the office.
That’s how Inspect caught on at Ramp. There wasn’t a mandate to use it. Teammates watched each other solve problems in shared sessions, learned what was possible, and started sessions of their own.
In the past month, 99% of our engineering, design, and product teams used Inspect, and Inspect now accounts for 74% of merged PRs.
Engineered to adapt
Models and ways of working will keep evolving, but we believe the businesses that pull ahead will be the ones that can adapt fast without starting over.
That starts with model choice. Inspect connects with Ramp Router so you can choose the model that fits the work and switch when a new one comes along.
Your learnings should compound. If someone finds a better way to investigate, test, or review, you can use Inspect to turn it into an agent or automation that others can use and improve on.
So what’s the bottleneck now? Increasingly, it’s our own judgment: which ideas we act on and what we decide should ship. I think that’s a much better problem to have.
We’ve loved building with Inspect. We can’t wait to see what you build with it.
