How to Make Animated Short Videos to 10X Your App Revenue

making an animated short normally means an animator, footage, or hours inside an editing tool

and if you just have a verse, a quote or a small story in your head, that's a lot of work for something that lasts 40 seconds

so i built a skill that does the whole thing from the text

it's called Shorts Animator, it's completely free, and it works inside claude code and codex

How it works

you tell it the story and describe the look in your own words, something like "oil paint" or "soft watercolour, dreamy", even better if you add an image or a video inspiration style

then it writes every scene as code, paints each frame so it feels hand-animated, reads the story out loud and adds music

the voice runs on your computer, or you can use your own

captions are timed to every word, and the music is composed for each short

you can export vertical, square or wide

What can it actually do?

i made two to show you

the first is "Love Your Enemies", matthew 5:43–48, in oil paint

→ 40 seconds

→ 19 shots

→ rendered in 56 seconds

the second is "Retro City", a four-line story in retro old-style

→ 30 seconds

→ 29 shots

→ rendered in 9 seconds

in that one it drew the lighthouse and the boat itself, there was nothing in the kit for them

and it isn't limited to those two looks, crayon on paper, inked like a graphic novel and a flat gouache storybook all work too

How to use it

→ unzip the folder

→ open it in claude code or codex and type hi

→ it installs and makes a test short

→ give it a verse, a quote or a story, and say how it should look

Why this matters for marketing

short animated videos are one of the cheapest ways to get attention right now, and most people never use them because making them is slow or expensive

with this you can mass produce animated videos to market any of you products

if you own an app, that changes completely how you can market it
